SON boosts export of Nigerians agric products

The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) is set to boost exports of Nigerian products through the avenue of standardisation. This the agency has started doing through  the staff certification programme recently held in Lagos. Determined to raise the quality profile of Nigerian made products, especially agricultural products some of which had been banned, the agency said there was need to first build the capacity of its workforce as a starting point. Bag of rice to sell for N10, 000 in June

RICE farmers under the auspices of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, RIFAN, has assured Nigerians that in June 2017 a 50 kilogramme of rice bag will sell at N10, 000. This assurance was given by the National President, RIFAN, Aminu Goronyo, while speaking on the current development in the rice industry, which Goronyo disclosed that rice farmers under the association now have direct access to fertiliser. The Federal Government has selected the Ulasi River in Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State for the establishment of a modern integrated fish farming project capable of producing forty five tons of fish annually. Apart from the fish farming project, the federal government in partnership with the Australian government will also establish an ICT and Castor Oil projects in the area where youths would be trained and equipped to become employers of labour rather than job seekers.
